A 38-year-old Centralia man has been formally charged in Marion County Court with aggravated battery to a peace officer and resisting or obstructing a peace officer following an altercation following a traffic crash.

Brandon Reynolds of Gilmore Street reportedly ran off the Green Street Road east of Central City on May 4th.   When a deputy arrived, Reynolds is accused of striking the deputy in the arm knowing he was performing his official duties.   He’s also accused of refusing to back away from the deputy when being told to do so.

Reynolds was released on pre-trial conditions.  He had the public defender appointed to represent him.  Reynolds is due back in court for a preliminary hearing for June 3rd.

There were no injuries in the crash.  Reynolds was the only one in the vehicle.
