A 32-year-old Salem man was arrested for alleged aggravated assault with use of a deadly weapon and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon in a vehicle after allegedly pointing a gun out of the window of his pickup truck.
The incident occurred in the 200 block of Oglesby Street after some of those in a yard became involved in a verbal confrontation with Anthony Haag of North Ohio Street.
Police sought the public’s help in locating the vehicle involved, but an eventual capture of his license plate number by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department led police to his home. Haag was allegedly there and was arrested without incident. Police say they also recovered the gun allegedly involved.
The initial altercation occurred around 7:30 Monday night. Haas was arrested around eleven Monday night.
Haag was held in the Marion County Jail pending a first appearance in court.
