The Mt Vernon Rams earned a 6-4 win over Mattoon. Max Nowak was the starter going 3 innings allowing 2 earned runs. Cale Mauer worked the next 3 innings allowing no runs and just 2 hits with 5 strikeouts. Ty Pierce worked the 7th for the save. At the plate, Nolan Mast drove in 2 runs with RBI also from Tyler Curry, Alex Kiefer, Eli Prost and Ryker Perigo. Pierce doubled and scored and Diedrich Smith also singled and scored. The Rams improve to 8-13 overall.
Today’s Centralia RBI baseball tournament has been canceled and will not be made up.
