After earlier gathering items for those affected by the flood in the Salem area last month, Owens and Associates are now selling remaining items for donation during a yard sale Friday and Saturday.

Money raised by the event will be distributed to flood victims.   It is taking place in front of Owens and Associates in the 600 block of East Main until four on Friday and seven a.m. to one p.m. on Saturday.

Jayda Owens organized the event.

“We took a lot of donations for flood victims,” Owens said. “Then we had them come in, anyone who lost their home or clothing, needed food or anything like that, they came in and kind of shopped around. This coming Friday and Saturday we’re going to have a rummage sale. We’re giving everything away by donation, we’re not pricing anything. Anybody that comes in and donates money, we’re taking that money and giving it to the flood victims.”

An overwhelming amount of clothing of all sizes, most like new or new with tags were donated along with a lot of hygiene products, toys, books, and food.

Owens says many of those impacted by the flood were able to save their clothing but need help with the cost of repairs or putting down payments on a new home or apartment.
