The City of Centralia issued nearly $1.5 million in building permits during the month of April.
The largest was a $1.1-million permit for the new Byrd Watson Drug Store that is under construction at 790 West McCord. There was also a $150,000 permit for a new home at 868 East 2nd. A permit was issued for a pole barn shed at 301 South Pullen.
There were seven permits issue for roof solar arrays. Six others were issued for new fences and four to put in replacement fences.
There were two demolition permits issued for the month. One was to tear down a home at 1212 Bond and another to tear down a garage at 530 South Brookside.
