Bazile’s Gem Lifts Stallions over Althoff

Jayden Bazile struck out 10 leading Christ Our Rock to a 2-0 win over Althoff.  He allowed just 5 hits and didn’t walk anyone. Evan Beal, Brayden Albert, Noah Kenley, Christian Nollman and Colton Cartright each had hits with Albert driving in a run and Cartright’s hit was a double.

 


12th Inning Walk Off Lifts SC Over Altamont

Colton Smith singled home the winning run as South Central outlasted Altamont 2-1 in 12-innings on a late night at Lions Field in Kinmundy.  It was part of a 3-hit day for Smith.  Altamont took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.  SC would tie the game on a Luke Shumate single in the 2nd.  That would be all the scoring until the 12th.  Trevan Sidwell started for SC and went 7 innings allowing 1 unearned run striking out 5.  Zane Montes worked the final 5 innings for the win.


Purcell’s Homer Not Enough In OPS Loss

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval fell to Red Hill 6-2.  Heydin Purcell launched a 3-0 pitch over the fence for a solo shot in the 3rd.  Drew Haines got the start allowing 3 runs, none earned, over 2.2.  Bo Chapman had the other OPS hit, a double.  Haines, Lance Nix and Beau Spencer combined to allow just 2 hits for the Eagles.


Shoes Get Walk Off Defensive Play From Tegeler To Beat Mattoon

Teutopolis beat Mattoon 4-3 as left fielder Cooper Tegeler threw out the would be tying run at the plate to end the game.


Will Fearday Homers Twice In Bulldogs Win

Will Fearday homered twice and St Anthony beat Tolono Unity 12-3.  Brock Fearday struck out 11 on the mound allowing 3 hits and 3 runs over 5.2.


Carlyle Falls To Chester, Rematch Today

Carlyle fell to 9-8 overall and dropped to 5-2 in the Cahokia Conference Illinois division with a 3-1 loss to Chester. Chester’s Brenden Malley threw a complete game 4-hitter with 16 strikeouts and only 3 walks.  Both teams will play again today in Chester.


Kiefer Homers Twice In Rams 2 No-Hit Wins Over Cahokia

Mt Vernon swept their doubleheader with Cahokia.  Eli Prost and Cyrus Joy both pitched no hitters for the Rams.  Alex Kiefer hit 2 home runs and Lucas Ohley also went deep.  The Rams are 7-13 overall and 4-2 in the South 7.


The Centralia Orphans had their baseball game with Marion rained out and will make it up on Tuesday, May 13th with a 4:30 start time.
