Nix Dominates In Salem’s Win over Shells…..SC Falls To TTown, CHS Wins Again Behind Koch’s Perfect Game….Baseball Roundup

Noah Nix was dominant as the senior right hander allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk with 11 strikeouts as he shutout Roxana 3-0.  Kyler King gave Salem the lead in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI double followed up by a 2-run single from Rhett Detering to make it 3-0 after 6.

The Salem JV has dropped 14 straight games after winning their first two of the season, falling to Roxana yesterday 9-7.  Salem led 5-0 after 4 innings but the Shells would score 9 in the bottom of the fifth.  Evan Barnes and Logan Butts doubled both driving in a run.  Jaxon Ward added a triple and 2 RBI.  Luke Boldt went 2-3 with an RBI.  Ward worked 4.1 allowing 4 hits and 6 runs, none of them earned, as Salem made 7 errors in the game.  Huck Mulvany worked the final 1.2.

South Central couldn’t keep up with TTown falling 12-2 in five innings.  The game was 6-2 in the top of the fifth when the Shoes would plate 6 runs.  SC got a solo homer from Callaway Smith and a run scoring single from Chase Guerrettaz to account for all their runs.  Maddox Robb had the other SC hit.  TTown improves to 17-2 on the season.

The Centralia Orphans shutout Odin/Patoka/Sandoval 15-0 as Xavier Koch threw the 4-inning perfect game needing just 45 pitches.  Koch finished with a pair of hits at the top of the lineup.  Austin Arthur and Chase Fahringer also drove in 2 runs.  Centralia is at home in South 7 play against Marion.  Odin/Patoka/Sandoval is at Ramsey.

St Anthony blasted Dieterich in Effingham 14-0 in 5 innings outhitting the Maroons 14-2.  Brady Hatton, Brock Fearday and Will Fearday combined to drive in 7 runs in the first 3 spots of the lineup.   Brock Fearday hit a long home run.  Aden Lauritzen earned the win.
