The Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School Track and Field team competed at The Tri-County Invitational this evening held at Breese Central High School. The Stallion Boys finished 4th falling just a few points shy of 3rd place Trenton-Wesclin HS for 86-78 as Nashville would claim 2nd and Breese Central would win the meet on the boys side.

Jr. Landyn Mitchell has had a remarkable season for the Stallions but today might have been his most unbelievable Invitational to date, as he would win all 4 of his events taking home 4-1st place medals and scoring an astonishing 40 points for the Stallions! “One of the most incredible individual performances, I have ever seen in my time coaching track and field!” Mitchell would win the Long Jump with PR jump of 22’7″, he would also win the Triple Jump with another PR jump of 43’7.25″. He then took home 1st in the 110M Hurdles and capped of the special day with a 1st place finish in the 300IM Hurdles. His hurdle times were not his tops of the season, but this was due largely to the 20mph+ winds that the athletes had to run into on the home stretch of the track today!

Most of the athletes in the meet saw this affect their times significantly today, but there were other Stallions who fought hard and placed as well in their events. Soph. Carson Pigg would place 2nd in the 3200 meter run (11:02.8). Sr. Isaiah Lyons would place 3rd overall in both the 400 meter (:53.89) and 200 meter dash (:25.13). Soph. Wyatt Gregory would take home 4th in the 800 meter run (2:18.3). Sr. Zerek Koch was 5th in the 3200 meter run. Soph. Alton Davis grabbed points in the 200 meter dash placing 5th. The 4X800 relay team of Anderson Engele, Wyatt Gregory, Cameron Jones and Aiden Hildreth would also place 5th. And Zerek Koch also placed 6th in the 1600 meter run scoring a point for the team. As well, the 4X400 relay team of Wyatt Gregory, Aiden Hildreth, Anderson Engele and Sergio Fernandez also placed 6th. Sr. Jayden Cushman would record PRs in the Long Jump and 100 meter dash!

Unfortunately for the Lady Stallions Sr. distance runner standout Rylee Brammeier and her teammate Madi Nolte were both fighting a bout of sickness and we’re unable to compete this afternoon. We hope to have them both back and healthy for Thursdays Nashville Girls Invitational. Great effort today by our entire Stallions team! They certainly make us all proud!
