A 46-year-old Centralia man, Shawn Stokes of Cedar Street, was taken to the Marion County Jail by Centralia Police after he was arrested on a no bond outstanding felony failure to appear warrant.
Centralia Police arrested 42-year-old Tahj Billberry, who said he was homeless, on an outstanding no bond Marion County major traffic failure to appear warrant.
Jefferson Fire officials say a cooking fire had put itself out by the time management got into an apartment at Rome Meadows in Dix during the noon hour on Thursday. The initial call indicated smoke showing from the doorway. Before finding the fire was out, Jefferson Fire had called Mt. Vernon City, Kell, Centralia Fire Protection District and Woodlawn for mutual aid. They were later cancelled.
