Salem Police arrested 42-year-old Ernie Whipple of South Maple in Salem for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police report Whipple was at a family member’s home on the 1100 block of North Shelby when he was asked to turn off a light. Instead, he allegedly struck the 20-year-old man who made the request in the back of the head. When police arrived, Whipple allegedly attempted to pull away when being placed into handcuffs. He was eventually taken to the ground, cuffed, and taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges and a first appearance in court
44-year-old Princess Leake of East Rexford in Centralia was arrested by Wamac Police on an outstanding Marion County felony no bond failure to appear warrant.
36-year-old Derek Feldhake of Effingham was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on a Fayette County misdemeanor failure to appear non bond warrant. He was later transferred to the Fayette County Jail at Vandalia.
