A 3 run homer in the first and another insurance run in the inning gave Freeburg a 4-0 lead and Salem’s late comeback was cut short in a 4-3 conference loss at home. The loss drops Salem to 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Noah Nix doubled for the Cats, Keaton Gullion added a single and run scored, Aden Bass drove in a run with 2 hits. Salem is off until tomorrow when they travel to Freeburg.

Centralia shutout Carbondale 3-0 behind a strong outing from Archie Goewey who allowed five hits over 7 innings with 4 strikeouts and no walks. Drake Fehringer doubled home a run, Mike Organ also had an RBI. Centralia senior Drake Fahringer has committed to play baseball at Prairie State College. Centralia is in action today at Mt Carmel.
St Anthony improves to 10-5 on the year knocking off rival TTown 11-5 dropping the Shoes to 14-2 on the season. Brock Fearday was great on the mound topping 90 mph and consistently going 85-88. He struck out 12 and also had a huge day at the plate hitting a home run, triple and double.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval fell to Wayne City 15-1. Austin Hoffman and Lance Nix each had a hit with Nix driving in the only run. OPS is back at it today at home against Webber.
