Salem Police arrested a husband and wife separately early Tuesday morning.
Police say they first responded to the couple’s apartment in Cottonwood Village to a report of a domestic problem. At that time, 45-year-old Jason Haas was arrested for domestic battery. He was taken to the Marion County Jail.
About an hour later his wife and the alleged victim came to the jail. 49-year-old Jennifer Haas first reportedly tried to gain entry through the sally port used for prisoner transport before coming to the main entrance. She was told she could not drop the charges or see her husband. Because Haas appeared intoxicated, she was also told by jail staff not to drive.
Salem Police reportedly stopped Haas a short time later for a traffic violation. She was arrested for alleged driving under the influence and was taken to the Marion County Jail for a 12-hour hold.
