The Salem Wildcats take the Cahokia Conference trek to Wood River this afternoon. The Cats beat the Oilers 11-1 in five innings on Tuesday afternoon in Salem. Salem is coming off their worst loss of the year, falling on the road at Fairfield 8-5. The Cats made 5 errors and allowed 6 unearned runs in the loss. At the plate, Ryan Detering singled and drove in 2 runs with RBI also from Cody Beard, Carter Lowe who also tripled and Rhett Deterintg. Cooper Lobek was the starter going 3.2 allowing 9 hits and 8 runs but only 2 were earned. Aaden Rostance got the final 7 outs of the game. For Fairfield, Austin Grieve would single and score two runs with Boston Isaacs adding a single, RBI and a run scored.
The Centralia Orphans earned a 13-5 win over Mater Dei. In the win, Gabe Houser had 2 hits and drove in 4 Centralia runs.
Christ Our Rock outhit Neoga 8-5 but fell short where it counted, on the scoreboard in a 7-5 loss. The Stallions mounted a comeback in the final inning down 7-1, but after 4 runs were scored the Indians finished off the game. Jayden Bazile led the Stallions with 3 hits including a home run and scored twice. Noah Kenley was 2-4 with a double, Drew Leuking also drove in a run.
Mt Vernon fell to Father McGivney 15-3 in five innings. For the Rams, Alex Kiefer doubled and scored, Tyler Curry and Ryker Perigo drove in runs, Ty Pierce singled and scored and Cale Maurer doubled. The Rams are 3-10 on the season.
