The Lady Wildcats will play softball today at Fairfield. The Lady Cats beat visiting Wood River 9-0 at Tully Park running their conference record to 3-0. Bre Thurman was strong in the circle again striking out 13 allowing just 3 hits. Mya Russell and Nat Lee had 2 hits apiece. Jaelyn Keller drove in 3 and Izzy Decker added an RBI.
South Central shutout Brownstown/St Elmo 15-0 in four innings. Maddi Peddicord went 2-2 with a double and triple and 3 RBI. Lauren Johnson added 2 RBI along with Kaitlyn Swift and Perci Reid. Kinlee Thompson was the winning pitcher allowing just 1 hit and striking out 8.
Emma Williamson was dominant again as the senior struck out 12 as Christ Our Rock beat Ziegler Royalton 9-3. Peyton Jett drove in 3 runs going 3-4 on the day. Alayna French, Katie Oelze and Williamson also had multi-hit games. Oelze drove in 2 runs on the day and Williamson added an RBI.
Mt Vernon won a pitchers dual over Carbondale 3-1 in South 7 play. Danicah Tobin struck out 12 giving up 3 hits and a run over her 7 innings. The Lady Rams jumped out to the lead in the top of the 3rd after Taylor DeSmith drove in a run and Addi McMillen added a 2-run double.
