Keep Salem Beautiful is inviting residents to take part in a community-wide Spring Litter Cleanup Event on Saturday, May 3. The movement is a part of the Greatest American Cleanup, a nationwide litter cleanup initiative led by Keep America Beautiful.
Volunteers may register on arrival before 9am at the Bryan Memorial Park Stage. Volunteers will be picking up litter in target areas around the community while contributing to the larger effort to remove 25 billion pieces of litter and beautifying 25,000 communities by July 4, 2026, America’s 250th Birthday.
In 2024, Keep Salem Beautiful volunteers picked up 1,000 pounds of litter and dedicated a tree in the Bryan Memorial Park. This year, the initiative is targeting high litter zones around town, the park, reservoir, and nature trail for cleanup.
Keep Salem Beautiful is encouraging all residents of Salem and surrounding communities to join the Greatest American Cleanup campaign anytime from March 20 to June 20, 2025, by taking the pledge to pick litter up in their neighborhoods.
