A 44-year-old homeless Centralia man has been charged in Marion County Court with two counts of criminal sexual abuse to the same 16-year-old runaway girl.

Joshua Turner was located by Centralia Police on Friday with the girl in a third floor room of the shuttered Langenfeld Hotel in downtown Centralia. The responding officer could hear both a man and woman inside.  No one initially answered the door and a mattress was up against it to block entry.

Once police gained entry, Turner claimed to be alone but upon further questioning eventually admitted the 16-year-old was hiding under the bed.

Both indicated the sex was consensual but Turner said he knew the girl was only 16.  Police were also told the two had met in other vacant building.

During his first court appearance on Monday, Turner was ordered held without bond due to his admission that he knew the girl was 16 and because he had a petition to revoke his probation pending on an unrelated retail theft charge.
