Project Beautify Iuka is set for April 24th, 25th, and 26th.
The spring cleanup will provide trash dumpster for village residents to use free of charge with no tires allowed.
Iuka officials say this is your opportunity to do your part, at no cost to you.
Village ordinance violations will begin being distributed to non-complying residents immediately following the Spring Clean Up Event.
Violation fees start at $100 for the first offense and escalate from there. Non-payments, after 30 days, of any ordinance violation citation will now be turned over to a collection agency for collection or will be turned over to the village attorney for prosecution.
Iuka officials say there are several lots, yards, and porches that are filled with trash, debris, non-working or non-titled vehicle, broken down campers, and tons of random junk. All of those are violations of village ordinance and will be enforced with vigilance moving forward.
With spring here, residents are also given fair warning that violations of the grass/weed ordinance will also be cited.
