The Salem Lady Wildcats won the Waltonville Tournament going 2-0 on Saturday. They opened with a 12-10 thriller over Hamilton County. Bre Thurman was the winning pitcher in relief striking out 12. Salem banged out 16 hits. Thurman, Izzy Decker and Emma Lipe each hit their first home runs of the season, and for Lipe her first ever long ball. Thurman had 4 hits on the day and drove in 4 runs.
Salem then finished off the championship run with a 3-1 win over Waltonville. Thurman struck out 13 in the win. Marah Johnson tied the game with a solo shot in the 6th, her 2nd of the season. Thurman drove in the 2 go-ahead runs in the 6th on a double.
Salem had their Monday afternoon game with St Anthony canceled due to the Lady Bulldogs needing to make up a Conference game.
