The Wildcats track team had a strong showing at the Olney Invite, finishing 2nd overall.
Top performances included the 4×800 team of Alex Spencer, Hunter Malan, Caylan Patterson, and Caleb Purintun, who took 1st with a time of 8:49.62.
Trey Clark placed 5th in discus, while Miking Ettress finished 4th in long jump. Ettress also helped the varsity 4×200 team (with Clark, Patterson, and Avery Gullion) take 3rd in 1:36.76.
Hunter Malan ran a personal best 4:45.01 to finish 3rd in the 1600, and Robbie Shober was 5th in the 3200 at 10:10.66. Spencer also grabbed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:03.98.
The JV 4×400 team of Payton Gullion, Avery Gullion, Madden Thompson, and Spencer won their race in 3:44.36.
The freshman/sophomore Wildcats compete Tuesday at Highland, and the varsity returns Friday at Mascoutah.
