The Salem Wildcats had their conference home game yesterday with Breese Central postponed and moved to this afternoon with a 4:30 first pitch.
The Salem JV did travel to Breese and lost 11-0 in five innings. Jaxon Ward took the loss for Salem. He went 3.1 innings with 4 strikeouts. Logan Butts led the Salem offense going 2-2. Those were the only 2 hits of the day for the Cats. Scout Puricelli got the final 2 outs on the mound for Salem.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval will travel to Maryville. Centralia is on the road at Belleville West.
Father McGivney beat Christ Our Rock 6-2. Garrett Denton took the loss or the Stallions. Evan Beal worked 3 solid innings of relief allowing just 3 hits and one earned run. Beal and Brayden Albert each drove in a run for Christ Our Rock with Albert, Noah Kenley and Christian Nollman adding a hit.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval had their game at Waltonville suspended tied at 2 in the top of the 3rd inning. Haydon Purcell hit a 2-run homer for the Eagles to give them a 1st inning lead, but the Spartans would score twice in their half of the inning to tie it up.
Mt Zion shutout St Anthony 6-0. Andrew Tay was great on the mound for the Braves topping out at 91 in the first inning and consistently hitting upper 80s. He is a Southeast Iowa commit.
