The Salem Lady Wildcats make the short trip to Centralia to take on the Annies in prep softball. Salem is coming off a 12-0 win over Breese Central to open the Cahokia Conference. Bre Thurman struck out 10 in the win. She had 3 hits along with Emma Lipe. Marah Johnson homered and drove in 2, Katee Sellers added 2 hits and was on base 4 times. Thurman, Jaelyn Keller, Lipe and Kale Benjamin drove in 2 runs each.
The Annies are coming in having beaten Waltonville yesterday 6-0.
Also in the Cahokia Conference, Columbia shutout Freeburg 4-0 and Wood River beat Roxana 13-0.
South Central knocked off Altamont on the road 2-1. Lauren Johnson went the complete game in the circle allowing 3 hits and no earned runs with 7 strikeouts. She also doubled at the plate.
Christ Our Rock shutout Father McGivney 5-0 scoring all their runs in the fourth inning. Emma Williamson, the EIU signee, struck out 21 allowing just 1 hit and walking just 1. Alayna French drove in 2 runs in the win.
Danicah Tobin struck out 10 as Mt Vernon beat Marion 7-3. She gave up 4 hits and 3 runs over her 7 innings. Arwyn Wilkey, Paige Watson and Tobin had 2 hits each with Tobin and Allie Sweeten driving in 2 runs.
