A 58-year-old Sandoval man has been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to unlawful restraint and threatening a public official.

Daniel Walls of North Cedar in Sandoval is accused of preventing a woman from walking away from him in his home in March.  He also admitted to an April 2023 incident of threatening a public official stemming from an incident last April where he threatened a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy with physical attack if he saw him around town or the golf course.  Walls had companion charges of domestic battery and resisting or obstructing a police officer dropped.

Walls will also have to complete six months of supervised release when getting out of prison. He’ll also get credit for time served in the Marion County Jail.  The sentence was stayed until April 14th.
