The Marion County Highway Department reports both the Green Street and Odin Road have been reopened following weekend flooding.
While there was no damage to the Raccoon Creek bridge over Green Street Road, the overtopping of the roadway led to some of the pavement being ripped off. The county worked with Howell Paving to have a new surface put down on Monday so the bridge could reopen.
The county highway department also inspected several other bridges where there were concerns, but there were no structural issues found.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps reports Skillet Fork is back in its banks north of US 50 and should be back in its banks by Tuesday morning south of US 50, allowing the flooded roads in the Skillet Fork Bottom to reopen.
Salem Township Road Commissioner Joe Telford reported that the Robin Road, South College, South Hotze, South Hoots Chapel, and Westline Road crossings in the Crooked Creek Bottoms were passable beginning Monday morning. However, Telford says the Hoots Chapl Road south between US 50 and Young Road will be closed on Tuesday to replace a culvert damaged by the storms. The work could continue into Wednesday. Telford is thanking everyone for their cooperation.
