A 27-year-old rural Odin man has been charged in Marion County Court with indecent solicitation of a child and sexual exploitation of a child.

Tyler Faith of Norton Road is accused of soliciting a child under the age of 17 to perform a sex act and exposing himself to the same girl.   The incident occurred in April of last year.

Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps says upon learning of the alleged incident from a member of the girl’s family an investigation began.  The results were turned over to the State’s Attorney’s office who issued a warrant for Faith’s arrest in March.  He was initially arrested in Fayette County and returned to the Marion County Jail this week where he made his first appearance in court.

The state’s attorney did not seek to detain Faith who was released following his initial court appearance on pretrial conditions.   Among the conditions are he is to have no contact with the victim, her place of residence or school.  He is due back in court May 20th for a preliminary hearing.
