The most serious damage from the line of severe thunderstorms that crossed Marion County Wednesday night was to a barn on Jones Road north of Patoka.   The barn appears to have been blown apart by strong winds.  No other building damage was reported in the area.

The line of severe thunderstorms resulted in multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings through the area.   Weather Eye noted the storm formation was the type that could have resulted in quick-hitting tornadoes dropping from the sky and then going back into the clouds.

The storm caused damage to a major electric transmission line along Bell Club Road from Green Street to Mercer Farm Road.  Two poles were broken, and others were leaning with the electric lines lowered just above the road.   Ameren crews worked on repairs Thursday after the road was closed to all traffic after the storm moved through Wednesday night.   Tri-County also has an electric line on the polls.

Tri County Electric reports most of their other damage was from fallen tree limbs in outages that just effected a few customers at each location.  Tri County reported 284 lost power during the storm, 250 of those in Marion County and most in the Salem area.   Ameren Illinois reported a total of 236 lost power in Marion County and 1,490 in Clinton County.

Centralia city firemen were called out to several power line issues, including one on West McCord and Brooks Avenue where power lines were damaged, and a transformer was sparking, causing an electrical outage to the area.

The Salem Water Plant recorded exactly one inch of rain.  The Centralia Water Plant had 1.04 inches of rain.   WJBD Facebook friends report three inches of rain Kell, 2.3 inches on the south side of Salem, and 1.8 inches on the north side of Xenia.
