A 40 by 60 foot barn in rural Iuka was destroyed by fire Tuesday night.
Iuka Fire Chief Kenny Eagan says the fire was on the Kathleen See property at 7101 River Road. He reports the fire started in the area of a heat lamp that was being used to keep some ducks warm.
In addition to the barn, a pickup truck, side-by-side, riding lawn mowers and other items stored inside were also a total loss.
No other buildings were threatened.
Kell and Kinmundy-Alma assisted Iuka Firemen on the scene while Odin covered the Iuka Fire Station in the event of another fire. United Medical also stood by at the scene in the event of any injuries.
The fire call came in at 8:47 Tuesday night and remained on the scene until 10:35 pm.
