This weekend was the SIJHSAA State Volleyball Tournament’s. The Class L tournament was held in Pinckneyville. The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats lost in their opening round match to DuQuoin 21-25, 20-25. Massac County would end up winning the championship over Millstadt in 3 sets including a 15-13 finale. Carterville beat DuQuoin in the 3rd place match in straight sets.
The Class S Tournament was held in Herrin. Losing in the opening round of the 16-team field were North Wamac/Irvington/Grand Prairie who lost to St Andrew, Selmaville lost to Cisne, Summersville fell to Germantown and Field lost their opener to New Athens. Germantown ended up winning their 3rd straight state title in a great match over Cisne 25-221, 24-26, 19-17. St Teresa Catholic took 3rd over St Andrews.
The Class M Tournament was in Nashville. Pinckneyville won the title over St Clare O’Fallon while Aviston beat Nashville in the 3rd place game.
