Len Leon Palmer, 89, of Mount Vernon, IL, passed away on March 28, 2025, at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor. He was born May 30, 1935, in Jefferson County, Illinois to Hobart Palmer and Josephine Shelton. Len married Dottie (Francis) Palmer on July 16, 1955, in Bonnie, Illinois.
Len is survived by his loving wife, Dottie Jo Palmer; sons, Michael (Sonya) Palmer of Mount Vernon, IL, Roger (Rorie) Palmer of Mount Vernon, IL; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hobart Palmer, mother, Josephine Shelton, two brothers, a sister, one infant sister; and two half brothers.
Len was a manager for many years at Dowzer Electric and proudly served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He was an avid hunter and golfer. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 31, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois, with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow.
