Rebecca “Becky” Langenfeld, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on November 19th, 1929, in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of McKendree “Mac” and Reba (Richardson) Hankins. Becky lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her cherished family and friends.
A private family burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, where Becky will be laid to rest next to her parents and sister, honoring her wishes for cremation rites. In lieu of flowers, her family kindly requests that donations be made to The Wild Bunch Scholarship. Becky was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving children: Debbie Dorries and her husband Doug, Dean Langenfeld and his wife Benita, Jane Gruenenfelder and her husband Mike, and Pamela Campbell and her husband Jeff. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Heather Strader and her husband Derek, Nichole Dorries-Sarensen and her husband Joe, Kyle Langenfeld and significant other Maria, Nathan Marcum and his wife Kerry, Erika Marcum with significant other Matt Reynolds, Alyssa Boyce and her husband Jacob, Alexis Campbell, Taylor Chappell and John, and Michael Gruenenfelder. Becky was also a proud great-grandmother to Grayson Strader, Callie Strader, Aiden Reynolds, Adalyn Reynolds, Ainsley Boyce, Addisyn Boyce, Hailey Stewart, Joshua Stewart, Novalee Gruenenfelder, and Deegan Gruenenfelder. She is also survived by her nephew, Joey McCarty, and his wife, Nita.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, McKendree “Mac” and Reba Hankins, her grandson Kory Langenfeld, her sister Jane Hankins, and her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Lea Hankins.
A lifelong member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Centralia, Becky demonstrated faith and dedication to her community throughout her life. She took great joy in watching her children and grandchildren play sports, delighting in every game. A passionate fan of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, Becky was known for never missing a game. An enthusiastic golfer, she also enjoyed family cookouts with friends. Above all, her family was her greatest passion and pride.
