The Salem Wildcats baseball team is back home this afternoon for a 4:30 first pitch with the Charleston Trojans.
Salem is 3-2 on the season coming off a road win at Benton yesterday 16-1. Noah Nix was amazing, needing just 38 pitches for the 4-inning, complete game win. He surrendered just one hit and struck out 5 as Salem outhit the Rangers 12-1 and capitalized on 5 Benton errors. Nix hit his first homer of the season. Jalen Inlow had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Ryan Detering drove in 3 along with Cody Beard. Keyton Grawe went 3-3 with 3 runs scored and Keaton Gullion added a double and 2 runs scored. Cooper Lobek also singled and drove in 2.
The Orphans are at home hosting Herrin.
Christ Our Rock moved to 3-3 with their 11-0, five inning win over Maryville Christian. Garrett Denton pitched all five innings allowing no runs on one hit with six strikeouts. Christian Nollman had 2 hits and an RBI. Colton Cartright had a hit and drove in 2. Jayden Bazile also had a h it, RBI and 2 runs scored. Denton drove in 3. Evan Beal added an RBI along with Noah Kenley and Drew Lueking.
