A 34-year-old Salem woman has been charged in Marion County Court with misdemeanor battery and DUI after an altercation at her home late Monday afternoon.
Salem Police say they were originally called to a possible fight involving an intoxicated person. Leslie Courtney of North Dawley Street had left by the time police arrived. Based on a description of her vehicle, police later completed an investigative stop of Courtney. She was arrested for alleged DUI after failing field sobriety tests.
The battery charge was added after another officer went to the home and learned Courtney had allegedly been involved in an altercation with a 17-year-old female juvenile. The juvenile declined hospital treatment.
