Marion County Courthouse

The Marion County Board Tuesday night will be asked to confirm the construction and operation of a 35-acre solar farm in rural Patoka.  The Swamp Fox Solar project would be located along US 51 near the Oil Tank Farm.

The county board will hear a report on the results of the Fiscal Year 2022 Audit in a Zoom Call with WIPFLI Senior Manager Josh Faivre.  He’ll also provide an update on the 2023 Audit.  A County Procurement Process Ordinance will also come before the board.

The board will be asked to purchase window blinds for the courthouse and public service building along with a quote for four additional windows that were left off the original bid specifications.   An update will be given on the installation process.

The board will be asked to formalize the Marion County ESDA position being fulltime.  While Sheri Barter was made fulltime a number of years ago, the change was not reflected in county board business.

Two closed sessions are on the agenda.  One to discuss animal controls plans.  The other is to get an update on opioid litigation from State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth.

The meeting begins at 6:30 Tuesday night in a third-floor courtroom at the courthouse.
