Highland made it official as the Board of Education voted to enter the South 7 Conference in the 2026-27 school-year. This will effectively dissolve the Mississippi Valley Conference, as Highland was the last team left after several teams have left for the Cahokia and Southwestern Conference.
Highland has an enrollment of 898 students and will join the league with Centralia, Mt Vernon, Cahokia, Carbondale and Marion.
