John “Michael” Arnold, 41, of Salem, formerly of Odin, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 5, 1984, in Centralia, the son of John and Cindy (Spitler) Arnold.
Survivors who will mourn the passing of Michael include his devoted family, mother, Cindy Meredith and husband Rick of Odin; his father, John Arnold and wife Tonya of Salem; siblings, Grant Arnold and wife Stacey of Odin, Gavin Meredith of Jackson, TN, Sydney Hawkins and Travis of Mount Vernon, Atlee Hargis and Rachel of Florida; nieces and nephews, Will, Maddie, Sophie, Allison, Spencer, Owen, Keegan; great-nephew, Branson; grandmother, Lilly Decker: and many extended family members and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Beverly Spitler, Bob Arnold, Demaris Arnold, Maurice Decker, Mary Lynn Meredith, and Helen Arnold.
Michael loved music; no matter what he was doing, he was sure to have his favorite songs playing. He attended concerts at any chance he got, enjoying the energy of the crowd. Michael had a love for the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues, appreciating a good competition. Michael loved being an uncle, and his nieces and nephews always knew they could come to him. As Michael will be deeply missed by all, memories of all the best of him will be held in their hearts.
Graveside Services for Mike will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Memorial checks may be made to Cindy Meredith for Michael’s nephew, Will’s Trust Fund, and will be accepted for the family at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
