Patricia Ann Sanner transitioned peacefully at home on March 19th, 2026.

Patricia was born on December 13, 1947, in Centralia, Illinois, to Martin and Ida Robbins. She married Darrell Shook, and they were later divorced. She married Alan Sanner on September 25, 1993, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by son Steve Shook of Centralia, son Doug Shook of Centralia, sister Chris Brink of Salem, and brother Mike (Gayla) Robbins of Centralia, sister-in-law Susie Robbins of Centralia, mother-in-law Shirley Brinkmeyer of Centralia, sister-in-law Debbie (Mike) Jansen of Germantown, sister-in-law Rene Dooley (Vicky) of Springfield, MO, sister-in-law Tammy Sanner of Palm Coast, FL. Pat is also survived by many nieces and nephews who called her Thea Pat, as well as many loving cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mark Robbins, and son David Shook. Pat was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rod Sanner.

Pat attended Centralia High School, where she met many lifelong friends who she cherished (Mary Alice, Carolyn, Bee Jane, and Sandy). Pat loved all her classmates from ’65 and always enjoyed the class reunions. In the early years, Pat worked at Richie’s and was later hired to manage “The Fly” in the shopping center. Pat was then promoted to District Manager for Kirlin’s Hallmark Stores. She managed a couple of different areas over the years, but was responsible for stores in six states. Pat served in this role for twenty-six years and loved the Kirlin family and her many employees. She developed a very strong friendship with Carla Fox of Effingham, who was a Kirlin store manager.

Pat was an “Orphan” thru and thru. She enjoyed attending the Orphans and Annie’s games and when she no longer was able to attend, she would tune in the radio or watch the streaming, if available. Pat also rooted for the Illini Basketball and Football teams, as well as the St Louis Cardinals. Through her husband, Pat became a big fan of the Indianapolis 500 and attended over 35 races, met many drivers and team owners at the Speedway, and her favorite restaurant “St. Elmo’s Steakhouse”.

In her youth, Pat was a very good bowler and enjoyed participating in leagues at Banks Bowl. Pat volunteered for a couple years to manage a boy’s T-ball team due to a shortage of managers. Pat was a tireless worker. She would clean her house and then start in the yard with the weed eater, blower and power washer. When she ran out of projects in her yard, she would start on the neighbors’ yards and the ditches of Meadow Lane. She was a legend to her neighbors. She was in constant motion. Pat also enjoyed playing Bingo and Video Poker.

Pat was able to travel to many wonderful places over the years. She enjoyed the ocean as well as the mountains. Her many trips were surpassed by her cherished trip to Greece where she visited her grandparent’s home in a small village outside of Tripoli. She visited with her family in Athens and traveled to the beautiful islands of Santorini and Mykonos. This trip brought her much joy, but her greatest joy was her family. Pat loved children and they loved her. Pat so enjoyed planning family reunions and hosting them at her home and the homes of cousins Teena and Joanna.

Pat had a strong faith and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. Several of her cousins serve as Priests, her closest being Father Jon Magoulias. Pat did not fear her passing and faced it with great courage knowing she was going to meet Jesus and her family. Pat wants all her family and friends that remain here to remember her fondly and she will greet each of us when we arrive. Most importantly – Believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Pat wanted all of you to remember her as she lived, with her smiles, her laughter, and her love. Pat did not want a Funeral or Memorial Service. She wants to have a Graveside Service with her family and a celebration of life and fellowship meal following. Peace to you all!!!!

Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia is privileged to be assisting the family of Pat Sanner with arrangements.
