A 54-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was hurt in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on the Iuka Road in rural Iuka.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Sabra England of Logan Street believes she fell asleep, left the west side of the roadway approximately 100 feet north of Apple Road, and continued through the ditch approximately 500 feet before coming to a stop in the bottom of the ditch halfway through the curve.
England was transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of apparently minor injuries by United Medical Response. Iuka Fire Department First Responders also were called to assist.
The crash occurred at 1:46 Friday afternoon.
