Salem Community High School has named Kelsey Pogue as its new Assistant Principal. Pogue will replace Clint Wolfe who was earlier promoted to Principal to replace the retiring John Boles.
Pogue has 14 years as a special education teacher, the last 12 at SCHS. She earned her undergraduate degree from SIU-E, masters in Curriculum and Instruction with Teacher Leadership Endorsement from SIU, and a Masters in Education Administration from Eastern Illinois University.
The school board hired Trevor Corry as an English Teacher.
Non-tenured teachers all had contracts extended for the next school year.
Those getting new contracts were third year teachers Barth Bookhout, Brendan (Pete) Colclasure, Kendra Henderson, Megan Molenhour, Kyla Motch, Vanessa Randolph, Lillie Risley, Mindy Veach, and Allison West; 2nd year teachers Jackie Malan and Savannah Kuhns; and 1st year teachers Connor Brooks, Rase Collins, Dylan Courty, Katelyn Green, and Kacey Puricelli.
