Salem Police have arrested a 37-year-old homeless Salem man after he allegedly sexually harassed an employee at the pet store in downtown Salem.

Police report Dustin Ferrell was taken to the Marion County Jail on preliminary charges of stalking, disorderly conduct and threatening a public official.

Police say Ferrell had entered the business starting last Monday, acting unusually and returned multiple times making unwelcome comments.

While the arrest was based on the incident in the one store, police reported other downtown businesses had reported Ferrell entering their establishments as well, making them feel uncomfortable.

When police arrested Ferrell on Friday, he allegedly threatened to kill the officer, leading to the threatening a public official arrest.

Ferrell is being held in custody until a final decision on charges is made and he makes his first court appearance, which is expected Monday.
