Bulldogs Fall In 1a 3rd Place Game….Fearday Has Back-to-Back Double-Doubles In Champaign
The St Anthony Bulldogs finished 4th in Class 1a after falling to Peoria Christian in the 3rd place game 61-51. St Anthony was led in scoring by their 2 All Staters Brock Fearday who finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds along with Ryan Schmidt who was playing with 2 injured ankles and finished with 12. St Anthony’s season ends at 29-6.
The 1a state championship is today at 1pm featuring Chicago Hope Academy and Lanark Eastland.
Althoff Looking To Add Basketball State Title to Soccer & Football Already Won This Year
In Class 2a, Belleville Althoff will play for the state title against Chicago Dyett at 3pm. Althoff is trying to add another 2025 state championship to their trophy case after Soccer won the state title in the Fall along with football. Althoff is 31-5 on the year and making the school’s 4th trip to state with Coach Lieb winning a state title in 2016 and was 2nd in 2015. Dyett is 26-7 out of the Chicago Public League and finished 4th this year at the Centralia Holiday Tournament with wins over Miami Southridge and Mt Vernon and losses to Marist and Evanston. This is the first tournament appearance for Dyett.

In 3a, Chicago St Patrick won the 3rd place game beating Chatham Glenwood 50-28. Today in the 6pm state finals, Brother Rice takes on DePaul College Prep.

In 4a semifinals last night, Lisle Benet Academy advanced to tonight’s state finals with their 56-47 win over Evanston. They take on Warren Gurnee who beat Rich Township 66-49. The 3rd place game is this morning at 9:30 and the championship tonight at 8.
