The Nashville Hornets avenged last year’s tight loss in the 2a state title game to Peoria Notre Dame, beating them soundly this time 55-29. Summer Brinkman had 13 points, 7 rebounds 5 steals and 3 assists for the Hornettes.
Pecatonica took home the 1a state title beating Carrollton 63-45. Elaine Rager led the way with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Carrollton got a double-double from Lauren Flowers with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Montini Catholic beat St Ignatius in the 3a championship 50-44. In the win, Nikki Kerstein had 21 points. Reganne Reardon had 20 points 9 rebounds in the loss.
The 4a state title went to Kenwood Academy who beat Fremd 65-44. Danielle Brooks scored 24 in the win. NaTallia Urlacher had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
