The Nashville High School Girls Basketball team has brought home a state title.  Nashville took a quick lead and dominated Peoria Notre Dame in the championship game at Illinois State University at Normal, which ended with a 55 to 29 Nashville win.

Nashville took a 13-11 first quarter lead and led 23- 13 at half after holding Notre Dame to just two points in the second quarter.  Nashville then outscored Notre Dame 14 to 9 in the third quarter and 18-7 in the fourth quarter to claim the state championship.

Nashville had three players in double figures.  Emma Behrmann had 14, Summer Brinkmann 13 and Samantha Brinkmann 12.

In other state championship games on Saturday, Carrollton topped Pecatonica 35 to 30 in Class 1A, Montini topped St. Ignatius 50 to 44 in Class 3a, Kenwood topped Fremd 65 to 44 in Class Four A.
