Diana L. Lawson, a longtime resident of New Castle, Delaware, passed away surrounded by her family on February 13, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born in Centralia, Illinois to the late Cleatis and Esther (Haney) Bland.
Diana is survived by her two daughters: Lori Egizio and husband Robert of Joliet, Illinois, and Sherri Jones and husband Christopher of Newtown, Pennsylvania; her longtime boyfriend, John O’Boyle of New Castle, Delaware, and brother: James Bland. She was the proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Chase and Kelsey Jones, Alyson, Ashlyn and Celia Egizio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Laverne Bland, and a sister: Delores Sellars.
Diana enjoyed spending time in her garden, doing puzzles, and bird watching. Diana traveled to southern Illinois every summer to visit with her family. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
After 32 years, Diana retired from General Motors in 2008.
Funeral services for Diana will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, after the services. A visitation for family and friends to gather will be held that day from 11:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home.
