A 54-year-old Salem man was airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained when his electric bike ran into the side of a car on South College at the entrance to Radiac Abrasives.

Salem Police say Bryan Hester of East Rainey was traveling southbound when a car driven by 25-year-old Max Phillips of West Warmoth in Salem pulled from the entrance of Radiac Abrasives in front of him.  Phillips told police he didn’t see Hester.

Hester was initially taken to Salem Township Hospital before being transferred to St. Louis.

Phillips was not hurt in the wreck.  He was ticketed for failure to yield when pulling out of a private drive.

The crash occurred just after seven Monday night.
