Two upstairs rooms of a Centralia home were heavily damaged by fire Tuesday morning.
The fire was at the Leah Webb and Justin Arthur home in the 1700 block of East McCord. Webb was at home at the time and was outside with her dogs when firemen arrived.
Centralia Fire Chief Jeff Day says the fire appears to have started on a deck outside the home and burned into the home. Firemen used a ladder to access the second story. In addition to the fire damage in the upstairs rooms, there was considerable water damage to the two rooms below it. Day estimates damage at $50,000.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Day says the wind helped spread the blaze.
The fire call came in at 9:17 Tuesday morning, with firemen on the scene until 11:41 am.
All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene along with the Centralia Fire Protection District for mutual aid. Sandoval Firemen covered the Centralia Fire Department in the event of another fire.
