A grass fire headed to a house Sunday afternoon in rural Iuka was stopped before it could cause any damage.
Kell Assistant Fire Chief Jason Franke says the fire was approaching the Loren Boehne home at 1041 Iuka Road, but the homeowner was able to keep the fire away from the residence prior to their arrival. About an acre of grass burned.
Firemen were at the home for about 45 minutes.
