A detached garage and its contents received heavy damage in a Central City fire on Monday morning.
Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera says the fire was on the Sharon Heitkamp property at 111 East Marvin. Heavy smoke was coming from the 24 by 24 foot garage upon their arrival. Firemen were able to enter the structure to knock down the flames.
Boshera says the fire appears to be accidental.
Firemen were called around 7:45 Monday morning and were on the scene for about two hours.
Both the Central City and Centralia Police Department assisted.
