A 17-year-old female juvenile runaway from One Hope United was arrested on multiple counts following an altercation with Centralia Police Wednesday afternoon.
The juvenile is accused of aggravated battery to three different Centralia Police officers by allegedly striking them in the chest and leg area after her handcuffs had been removed at the Centralia Police Station. The incident occurred after she allegedly tried to kick out the back window of a squad car after being picked up at 6th and Linden. She was also arrested on two counts of threatening a public official through intimidation, resisting a peace officer, and criminal damage to government property. A chair was also damaged at the police department.
Centralia Police say while the juvenile had enough points to be held in detention, no facility was available to hold her.
The One Hope runaway was with a runaway from Hoyleton Children’s Home.
The other teen girl went back to the Hoyleton Children’s Home facility without incident.
