Work has now been completed on Marion County’s 2022 audit.

Finance Committee Chair Christopher Krupp says the finance committee earlier addressed three minor areas of concern but will not be able to comply with the fourth because of the expense of hiring another county employee to do additional financial checks.  Wipfli is now beginning work on the 2023 fiscal year audit as they try and catch the county up and keep them grant eligible.

The board was told work could begin Wednesday on the project to replace all the windows in the courthouse.  A computer room to house UPS equipment is now complete with some electric panels in place.  The uninterrupted power supply equipment along with a generator are now on order.

The board sent a proposal to pay half of the bill to repair the Kinmundy Tornado Warning Siren back to the law enforcement committee to determine which fund the $2,800 bill should come from.  Kinmundy has already paid the other half of the bill which they don’t feel they owe because they never authorized the work.

The board agreed to recognize Discover Downstate Illinois Tourism Bureau for fiscal year 2026.

The board approved the reappointment of Edward Struckhoff to the Kell Fire Protection District Board of Trustees.
