The Sandoval School Board has set graduation. High School graduation will be held on Friday night, May 16th, with the exact time still to be set. Eighth grade graduation will be Friday, May 23rd, at 5:30 pm. Students will now have attend school on originally scheduled days off on March 3rd and April 17th to make up snow days. The last day of school has not yet been set.
The board was told Midwest National Bank and Altech/Phoenix will split the cost of purchasing a large retractable flag that will come down from the center of the junior/senior high school roof. The school will pay for shipment and installation. The flag was described as the largest available.
The board is finalizing plans for renovation of the gym restrooms. The district will utilize its $50,000 state matching maintenance grant towards that project. No final cost figures are yet available.
Sandoval will have to pay a $42,000 assessment to help stabilize the Egyptian School Insurance Trust Fund. High claims have sent the fund $7 million in the red this year. 80 schools in all utilize the trust fund for health insurance.
The board accepted the resignations of three paraprofessionals. They are Trinidad Bicente, Carrie Moore and Jennifer Claar.
