Wamac Police have arrested a 53-year-old Centralia for aggravated battery to a man at his home in Wamac last November.
John Willis of North Poplar allegedly demanded the victim give a female $30. The victim had originally given the woman $30 earlier, but then told her he didn’t have any other money. The victim told Willis the same thing. Willis then began swinging a metal stake, striking the victim in the hand causing a facture.
The victim then allegedly locked himself in a bedroom where Willis unsuccessfully used the metal stake to try and break in.
Willis eventually left and was located over the weekend at a home on North Elm Street.
Wamac Police say the victim had to have surgery on his hand.
